| Whilst I wasn't able to attend the Centenary celebrations i've heard nothing but wonderful news about it. Congratulations must go out to all involved, especially the Centenary Committee who worked tirelessly to get this show up! I may not have been a Merbein person, but over the past 2.5 years I spent working with the Merbein Community I met some tremendous people whom I have nothing but admoration for. Merbein is such a better place thanks to the like of people like the Wells, Wagners and Glovers! All the best for the next 100 years! - Chris Westwood |

Have just reconnected with centenary site. What a wonderful array of memories.Yes we were the luckiest kids growing up in the Sunraysia district& especially Merbein. Was great to catch up with those I did & sorry to miss those I didn,t. Thanks again Joy& Ken for organising our get together at the Gateway. Was so nice to spend time driving around familiar childhood sites too.Don,t you just love the Murray river, even if it does look sick. Here,s hoping for more rain& snow, amongst other things! (I,ll say no more!) There can,t be enough accolades in my book,. for the organiser's of the celebrations .It was a fantastic week. cheers&best wishes, Helen Duckworth(Willcock) |

| Home again, and, off to work for 2 weeks with EARLY starts...uuhhmmmmWhat a wonderful centennial celebration for Merbein. We only made it for Friday21st-Sunday23rd and were certainly impressed by the obvious hours of work, and the organisation that went into the successful running of such a big event. Congratulations to all those people, it's wonderful to see such enthusiasm for Merbein and the area - what a lot of talented people there are living in Merbein and from Merbein. The parade was fantastic, I have so may photos the slide show takes all day (well, a long time to get through).I personally had a wonderful time, Allan and Stuart (partner and brother) just shook their heads in disbelief as I rushed off to talk to yet another schoolmate. In the end they were convinced I was just rushing up to anybody pretending I knew them from school:)It was amazing catching up with 'kids' I hadn't seen for 45 odd years. My big highlight was catching up again with my honourary aunt from childhood, Nance McCarthy, at the Sunday farewell lunch. Thanks again to the workers and organisers. I keep smiling as I remember the experienceSandy McInnessandy.mcinnes@xtra.co.nz |

I was only in Merbein for a few days and caught up with a few friends, sorry I missed the message we were meeting at Bowrings, was actually accross the road at the time with Desley Sylvia. The parade was great with all the old machinery which bought back memories of the picking time.To the committee you did a wonderfull job and sounds like people who spent the week up there had a lovely time catching up. My parents ( Peter & Lola ) were there for the week and I know they enjoyed themselves. JennyTulloch Nee Corbould |

| Growing up in Merbein I will never what great time i had in my second home Kenny Park- swimming pool, footy ground, cricket ground, basketball court,& the space we had to fool around & let off steam. We were very lucky to have such an environment in a small town called Merbein. Most of our group which included Tracker,Hurricane, Congo turned out OK. Thanks to the Merbein back to committee for such a magnificent week which I will treasure and never forget. Ian Gervasoni. |

| Organisers of the Merbein Centenary - take a bow! What a superbly organised event. I had a ball. The parade was a highlight. I couldn't get enough diptins, dip tanks, rack shakers and old tractors from heavens know where! And the dehydrator was a real hoot! Such a lot of effort and attention to detail in all the floats. I feel enriched and re-connected to my youth. And the contact continues - with emails still coming in from long-lost neighbours wanting to be in touch. Thank you so much to the people who were able to come and made the effort - for sharing your memories with me. Alison George, Woodend. |

| Thankyou very much to all those responsible for organising such an absolutely wonderful event. It was just great to meet up with so many friends many that I had not seen for over 50 years. We were so lucky to have such a lovely place as merbein to spend our early years. From Ken West Havelock |
