Post Merbein HES celebrations ...
Posted: Friday, 16 September 2011, 7:00 AM
Hello all who attended the Merbein HES celebrations and the pre-weekend celebrations on Friday evening at the Merbein RSL. That was a great night of catchup with so many I would never have recognized. It was a night elevated in memory by our Ralph Fletcher, ever the entertainer. Dick Wells and his wife, Bernadette did a wonderful job of organizing the evening and allowing Ralph to take over the nights celebrations.I did not make it around everyone but did enjoy the evening greatly. I shall stay in touch with those whose email I have and with anyone who wishes to contact me in the future. The weekend celebrations at the old school was a great memory jogger with all the photographs and faces that were pointed out to me. Dan Nemtsis was very welcoming and hospitable. Good luck with that ambition, Dan, you will know what I refer to.Well, I am back home in the US after that long trip downunder, catching up with so many and with family. I shall continue to miss Merbein but was pleased to see the old town progressing and developing.Thank you all for such a marvelous time and I wish everyone a safe, long and happy life.Take care,Daryl Impey
