Open Days are being planned during the week at local Schools, Chaffey Aged Care, Historical Society, CSIRO, and in addition to the calendar below, various sporting events are being planned ie: Football, Bowls, Golf etc. Our "draft" Calendar as displayed below, will be updated regularly.
The "Settlers Picnic" promises an insight to the "traditional games and races" that the early settlers enjoyed. The first picnic was held on New Year's Day 1911.
In the December 2007 edition of the "Merbein Historian" part 1 on Merbein's Settlers' Picnic, it is noted that the 1922 event recorded a crowd of 6,500 people on the river bank adjacent to the Merbein Pumps!
