THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN VANILLA SLICE TRIUMPH
IS COMING TO MERBEIN in 2012
Pencil this date into your diaries: 18th of August, 2012
In 2011, the Merbein Development Association, under the leadership of Raywin Jamieson and Gloria Wall, successfully applied to the Mildura Rural City Council to hold the 2012 Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph at Merbein.
Under the auspices of the Merbein Development Association, a committee of community minded people have come together to plan the inaugural 2012 event.
Several planning meetings have already been held and members have travelled to Ouyen to meet members of Ouyen Inc. who have been happy to pass on a few tips and their support. The program for the day is being finalised and will include free entertainment and varied activities for families.
In the meantime polish up your home baking skills so you can enter one of the baking categories -
- Professional
- Innovative
- Amateurs
- Students.
Committee members include Leon Wagner (Chairperson), David McMillan (Secretary), Baiba Stephens (Minute Secretary), Gloria Wall (Treasurer), Raywin Jamieson, Marianne Glover, Judith Green, Carol Williamson, Richard Wells, Anne Nash, Betty Gebert, Keith Stephens (Volunteers), Fred Brown and Bernadette Wells (Publicity).
All are passionate about the Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph at Merbein 2012 – Top of the State and are aiming to make it the annual ‘must go to’ event on the Sunraysia calendar.
Watch this space for further details of the activities planned for what will be a GREAT DAY in Merbein on the 18th of August, 2012.
